About
My name is Marion-Jane Brand. I have been involved in Children’s Church (Sunday School) for over 15 years. For 6 of those years I was a volunteer at my local church. During that time I studied at Bible College, George Whitefield College, in South Africa, for 3 years, specialising in how to be a Children’s Church Director. After that, I spent a few years working full-time for a church, running all of their Children’s programs. I ran everything from Friday nights kids club and Sunday mornings, Sunday School to Camps and Holiday Clubs.

Helping you get started as a Children’s Church (Sunday School) volunteer
Do you feel anxious every time you are asked to teach in your Children’s Church program? Would you like to know how to teach with confidence? Do you feel overwhelmed and don’t know where to begin? Then this course is for you. The first step in teaching the Bible to children is understanding a Bible passage for yourself. Teaching the Bible is a large part of what Children’s Church (Sunday school) is about. Because it is such a big part, and such an important part, we need to treat the Bible with care. When you have understood a Bible passage for yourself you will then be in a better position to teach it. This course will give you some helpful tools to be able to study a Bible passage for yourself. You will have lots of opportunities to put into practice all the tools that you will be learning about. By the end of the course you would have completed the first step in teaching the Bible to children. You will no longer feel anxious or overwhelmed. You will be able to approach a Bible passage with confidence.

Teach the Bible to Children: Make the Bible fun and exciting
Helping you create a captivating new lesson each week
Do you sometimes feel like your lessons are, well, a little bit boring? Are you worried that the children in your class don’t understand what you are trying to teach them? Do you feel intimidated having to create an exciting lesson each week? Then this course is for you. The first step in being able to teach the Bible to children is understanding the passage for yourself. The next step is being able to effectively communicate that Bible passage to the children in your class. Once you have done the hard work of understanding a Bible passage, you then need to figure out how to teach it effectively, in a fun and exciting way. In this course we will be looking at 10 key components that will help you prepare your lesson. After each point we will put it into practice what we have learnt. By the end of this course you would have completed the next step in teaching the Bible to children: Preparing a fun and exciting lesson. Your lessons will no longer feel boring. The children in your class will begin to understand God’s word and want to learn more. And you will enjoy creating a fun and exciting new lesson each week.
